    Gwynne Shotwell is the President and Chief Operating Officer of SpaceX, where she oversees the company's day-to-day operations, including manufacturing, engineering, sales, and business development. She joined SpaceX in 2002 as its seventh employee and VP of Business Development, and was promoted to President in 2008.

    Under her operational leadership, SpaceX has become the world's leading commercial space company, achieving milestones including the first privately funded spacecraft to reach orbit, the first commercial resupply missions to the International Space Station, and the development of reusable rocket technology with the Falcon 9. She has also overseen the buildout of Starlink, SpaceX's satellite internet constellation with thousands of satellites in orbit.

    Shotwell holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University and a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics from the same institution. She began her career at The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, California. She has been consistently named one of the most powerful women in business by Forbes and Fortune.
