Dr. Lisa Su
CEO & Chair, AMD
Dr. Lisa Su is the Chair and CEO of AMD (Advanced Micro Devices), having led one of the most remarkable corporate turnarounds in technology history. When she became CEO in 2014, AMD was struggling with declining market share and mounting debt. Under her leadership, the company's market capitalization has grown from approximately $2 billion to over $200 billion.
Born in Taiwan and raised in the United States, Su holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from MIT, where she conducted research on silicon-on-insulator (SOI) technology. She began her career at Texas Instruments, IBM, and Freescale Semiconductor before joining AMD.
Under Su's leadership, AMD developed the EPYC server processors and Instinct AI accelerators that now power a significant share of the world's AI data centers, competing directly with NVIDIA. She was named TIME's CEO of the Year in 2024 and was the first woman to receive the prestigious IEEE Robert N. Noyce Medal.
Su is widely regarded as one of the most impactful CEOs in the semiconductor industry and a driving force behind the AI chip revolution.
