May Habib is the CEO and co-founder of Writer, a full-stack generative AI platform designed for enterprises. Writer helps companies deploy AI across their organizations using custom large language models, ensuring brand consistency, compliance, and security. The company has raised over $200 million in venture funding and serves major enterprises.
Habib grew up in a village in Lebanon during the civil war and studied English Literature at the University of Michigan. Before founding Writer, she built and sold a machine learning company focused on financial services content and worked in investment banking at Bear Stearns.
Writer differentiates itself by building its own LLMs (the Palmyra family of models) rather than relying on third-party foundation models, giving enterprises more control over their AI deployments. The platform includes tools for content generation, knowledge management, and workflow automation.
