Choi Soo-yeon is the CEO of Naver Corporation, South Korea's largest internet company and a global leader in AI research. Naver operates South Korea's dominant search engine, e-commerce platforms, and a range of digital services used by hundreds of millions of people across Asia.
Under Choi's leadership, Naver has made significant investments in artificial intelligence, developing HyperCLOVA X, one of the world's largest Korean-language AI models. The company has expanded its AI capabilities across search, e-commerce, cloud computing, and robotics through its subsidiary Naver Labs.
Choi joined Naver in 2007 and rose through the ranks, holding various leadership positions before being appointed CEO. She studied Computer Science at Seoul National University. Her leadership has been instrumental in positioning Naver as a serious competitor in the global AI landscape, challenging US and Chinese tech giants in the Asian market.
