Daniela Amodei
Co-founder & President, Anthropic
Daniela Amodei is the co-founder and President of Anthropic, the AI safety company behind Claude, valued at over $60 billion. She co-founded Anthropic in December 2020 with her brother Dario Amodei and a team of former OpenAI researchers, with the mission of building AI systems that are safe, beneficial, and understandable.
At Anthropic, Amodei oversees business operations, go-to-market strategy, policy and partnerships, and financial management. She has been instrumental in scaling Anthropic from a research lab to a major commercial AI company, securing investments from Google, Amazon, and other major investors.
Before co-founding Anthropic, Amodei spent over five years at OpenAI, where she rose to VP of Operations and managed the organization's growth from 35 to over 300 employees. Before OpenAI, she worked at Stripe in various operational roles and at the financial services company Aon.
Amodei studied Political Science and History at Columbia University. She has been named to TIME's 100 Most Influential People list and is a leading advocate for responsible AI development and proactive AI safety regulation.
