Kate Johnson is the President and CEO of Lumen Technologies, a global networking and edge computing company. She joined Lumen in 2022 and has led a comprehensive transformation of the company into an AI-enabled platform powering enterprise digital infrastructure.
Before Lumen, Johnson served as President of Microsoft US, where she led the company's largest market, overseeing Azure cloud and AI sales, enterprise partnerships, and go-to-market strategy. She also held senior leadership positions at GE, Oracle, and Red Hat.
At Lumen, Johnson is leveraging the company's extensive fiber-optic network — one of the most interconnected in the world — to deliver the networking infrastructure required for AI workloads. Her strategy positions Lumen as a critical enabler of the AI era, providing the low-latency, high-bandwidth connectivity that AI data centers and applications demand.
