First-ever FDA 'expectation of effectiveness' for a lifespan drug
Raised $100M+ for canine longevity research
Forbes 30 Under 30, Oxford DPhil background

Celine Halioua is the founder and CEO of Loyal, a biotech company developing drugs to extend the healthspan and lifespan of dogs. Loyal is the first company to receive the FDA's 'reasonable expectation of effectiveness' determination for a lifespan extension drug — a historic regulatory milestone with potential implications for human longevity research.

Halioua was a DPhil student at the University of Oxford, studying the economics of gene therapy, before founding Loyal. She previously researched longevity biology at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging and worked with Laura Deming at the Longevity Fund.

Loyal has raised over $100 million in funding and is developing multiple drug candidates targeting the biological mechanisms of aging in dogs. The company uses AI-driven drug discovery to identify and optimize therapeutic compounds. Because dogs age faster than humans and share many of the same age-related diseases, canine longevity research provides a rapid testing ground for insights that may eventually translate to human medicine.

Halioua has been featured on Forbes 30 Under 30 and is a prominent voice in the longevity science community.
